Keeping Kids Active: Ghosts in the Graveyard

    By: Dawn Juntilla

In our neighborhood we play a modified version of Ghosts in the Graveyard that allows kids of all ages to play.  One person is chosen as the ghost.  All the other players line up 15 to 20 feet away from the ghost.  The ghost says "One o'clock... two o'clock... three o'clock..." and so on, up to eleven o'clock and then shouts, "Midnight! I hope I don't see the ghost tonight!"  All the other players try to run past the ghost to the other side without being tagged by the ghost.  If the player is tagged by the ghost they are out.  When the ghost tags all the other players, the game is over. The last player to be tagged is the ghost for the next game.  Do you play a different version of Ghosts in the Graveyard?  Or, do you have other great ideas for keeping kids active?  Share your thoughts in the comments below.
