USTA Competition Training Centers are a facet of the National High Performance Program. This program is an effort by the USTA to bring the top 16 players from each geographic area together to practice and compete. 2003 US Open Champion Andy Roddick is a past participant of the CTC program. Education, fitness training, sports science information, practice and competition amongst different training centers is the primary format of the CTC's. This format gives the USTA a chance to scout new talent and allows the best players a chance to practice with each other. The season takes place between early March and June, culminating with a season-ending CTC Jamboree, held just prior to the SCTA Junior Sectionals. Competition Center Administrator Lew Brewer supervises the program from the High Performance headquarters in Key Biscayne, Florida.
