    Class Descriptions: Acro-tumbling Beginning-suggested for ages 5 and up. The class teaches stretch, strength and flexibility. Acro-tumbling I, II, III, IV-These class teach stretch, strength, flexibility and build on skills mastered through the acro tumbling program. Placement is through evaluation. Power Tumbling- Acro III and above w/ a back handspring. Across the floor high speed tumbling. MiniBallet-This is for the beginning ballet student. Suggested ages 5-6 years. Basic bodyline, basic positions for body, arms, legs, and basic terminology are the focus. Ballet, Beginning-This is the first and second year ballet student. Suggested age 6+ years. Basic bodyline, basic positions for body, arms, legs, and basic terminology are the focus. Barre, center floor and across the floor cleanly and successfully is the goal. Ballet I-Suggested ages 7-12 years with a minimum of 2 years experience. One, one hour class per week. Ballet II-Suggested 10 years and up with a minimum of 2 years experience. Two, one hour classes per week. Ballet III/Pre-Pointe-Suggested ages 10 years and up with a minimum of 2years experience. Two, one hour classes. Ballet IV/Pointe level-Suggested 12 years and up with a minimum of 4 years experience. One, one and a half hour class. Ballet V/Pointe level-Suggested 12 years and up with a minimum of 4 years experience. One, two hour class. Combo (Combination)-Suggested ages 3-6 years. This one hour per week program introduces the student to all forms of dance. Instruction in tap, jazz, ballet and acro-tumbling is presented to the student. Contemporary I/ II- Suggested for Beginning to Ballet II students. Class will require students to use basic ballet technique mixed with a modern/ jazz flare. Contemporary III/ IV- Suggested for Ballet III/V. Class will require students to utilize advanced ballet technique to execute movement that has a modern/ lyrical foundation. Hip Hop - classes varied by age. refers to dance styles primarily danced to hip hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. This class is fun and high energy. Some simple breaking styles will be taught as well as some popping, locking and tutting. Jazz I- Suggested ages 6+. Basic jazz technique with choreography. Including but not limited to double turns, basic leaps, and basic flexibility i.e. Splits. Jazz II- Follows Jazz I by teacher invitation. Technique built from Jazz I. Including but not limited to triple turns, turns in second, leaps, flexibility. Jazz III- Follows Jazz II by teacher invitation. Technique built from Jazz II. Including but not limited to multiple turns, fouettes, leaps, flexibility. Jazz IV - Follows Jazz III by teacher invitation. Technique built from Jazz III. Including but not limited to multiple turns, advanced leaps and flexibility. Jazz Tech I/II- Recommended for those in Jazz I and Jazz II. Basic Jazz technique and across the floorwork. Jazz Tech III/IV- Recommend for those in Jazz III/IV. Advanced Jazz Technique and across the floorwork. Lyrical I/II- Suggested for the Beginning to Ballet II students. Class will require students to use basic ballet technique and movement with an emotional foundation. Lyrical III- Suggested for Ballet III students and above. Class will require students to utilize advanced ballet technique to execute movement with an emotional foundation. Modern- Suggested for ages 7+. Students will learn basic modern technique and be exposed to Graham and Horton Techniques. Musical Theatre- Think Broadway. This class will incorporate dance, acting and even a little singing. We have two classes, one for our younger dancers and one designed for teens. Tap/Jazz- a combination of tap and jazz in an hour and a half class. Suggested age 6+ or 2 or more years of combo. This would be a beginning class for those moving from combo and wanting to move forward faster learning basic skills that will work together. Tap I - Two major variations on tap dance exist: rhythm (Jazz) tap and Broadway tap. Broadway tap focuses more on the dance, and is widely performed as a part of musical theater. Rhythm tap focuses more on musicality, and practitioners consider themselves to be a part of the jazz tradition. We teach both forms at varying levels. Tap I is learning to be proficient in basis tap steps and time steps and working towards the skills needed in Tap II/III. Tap II/III- Uses all the basic skills in Tap I all with proper accents and at higher speeds. In this class they are also working pickups, pull ups, wings and tip stands with proper accents and at higher speeds.
