  • Description - Jr. Pioneers Hockey

Jr. Pioneers Hockey Program based at the 440,000 sq. ft. Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports and Wellness on the University of Denver campus. The program offers youth hockey opportunities for 4-18 year olds in the Denver community and is part of the Colorado Competitive Youth Hockey League (CCYHL). Our mission is to provide a positive environment where players can enjoy and learn about the game of hockey by teaching sportsmanship, hockey skills, and proper fundamentals. We strive to bring out the very best from every player and help them reach the peak of their potential and beyond. To achieve our mission we focus on four core values that form the foundation of the Junior Pioneers Hockey Program: Integrity, Teamwork, Passion, Development. The Jr. Pioneers Hockey program has been in existence at the University of Denver for the past 10 years and prior to that was a parent-run organization known as DUYH. The program has over 250 players and fields teams at all levels within the CCYHL.
