  • Description - The New York Aikikai

    The New York Aikikai’s children’s program offers younger members of your family an excellent introduction to aikido. Students in the program will learn not only basic aikido techniques, but also a variety of skills and principles through physical exercise and mental discipline. The curriculum encourages the students to learn necessary etiquettes and respect for tradition, to develop sensitivity and patience towards their fellow students, while keeping them physically engaged and highly entertained. The program also emphasizes cooperation with peers, comprised of a variety of ethnic backgrounds, all ages from 6 to 14, and an equal amount of male and female students, fostering a keen sense of empathy.
